Cosmic Powers #4, Vol. 1 Published by Marvel Comics, 1994 Featuring Legacy "The mighty fathers helm is far too big for his son" Paul Fleming Writer: Ron Marz Original Price: $2.50 History Behind Issue: Continued from Cosmic Powers #3 Plot: Despite Eros and his mother trying to talk him out of it, Genis, the son of Capt. Mar-vell (a.k.a Legacy) is adamant on tracking the villain Nitro who is indirectly responsible for the death of his father. On Hala, Legacy tracks him and they fight. Legacy wins and briefly considers killing Nitro before he sees a statue of Capt. Mar-vell with the words inscribed, "Defeat your enemy, do not become your enemy". Legacy brings Nitro back to Titan as his prisoner. He meets up with Jack of Hearts who has come to Titan looking for help. Jack of Hearts recounts his tale of his fight in the last issue and Legacy decides to go with him and attempt to help free Ganymede from Thanos and Terrax.
Writing: 9.5 Not bad at all. The story flows well with what we know of Legacy and what/how he feels about his father and Nitro. His interest in trying to be a hero like his father comes out well also as he chooses in the end to accompany Jack of Hearts on his quest. Art: 9.2 Not bad, though not as many one page shots as previous issues. Overall score: 9.35 Continued in Cosmic Powers #5 Review written by Mystic |
