According to Another Universe, John Muth will not be finishing up the much anticipated Galactus: The Devourer mini-series, to be written by Louise Simonson. The six-part series was intended to come out in April, but now has been set back to an unspecified Summer date. Muth will finish up the pencils on issue #1, but a new artist will take over from there. That artist will be none other than John Buscema, who penciled the Silver Surfer back in the late 1960's and early 1970's on the first 17 issues of the Silver Surfer's first volume. Also, according to the Starwatcher Agency, the Silver Surfer will star in a new graphic novel, titled Silver Surfer: The Lost Adventure. The 64-page graphic novel will be written by Randy and Jean-Marc Lofficier, who helped found the agency with artist Moebius. The graphic novel will be illustrated by J.O. Ladronn, who has worked in the past on Cable, Amalgam's Spider-Boy, and the Moebius Comic Arzach. The graphic novel will tie into a wide variety of past Silver Surfer comics and graphic novels. According to the creator's web page: "This 64-page story is a direct sequel to Lee-Kirby's classic Silver Surfer #18, and explains how and why the Surfer foresworn his vow of revenge against Mankind. The SILVER SURFER teams up with DOCTOR STRANGE (in his 1970s blue garb) and IRON MAN (wearing for the first time his Moebius-designed armor) to save an alternate Earth from total destruction at the hands of the merciless OVERLORD -- last seen in the Lee-Buscema Silver Surfer #6. That alternate Earth turns out to be the Earth previously seen in the Lee-Kirby's Simon & Shuster Silver Surfer graphic novel and the Lee-Moebius' Silver Surfer: Parable graphic novel. An Earth without super-heroes -- but upon which dwells ANOTHER SILVER SURFER, now enslaved by the OVERLORD." The Starwatch Agency gave no other information. Their site on this project is located at http://www.starwatcher.org/surferjm.htm. Marvel Comics has not given much information on the project or when it should be released, but they have confirmed there will be a project coming out. Below are some preview pictures, which have been made available by the Starwatch Agency. For more information on who Overlord is, check out his profile from our site.
