He Must Soar Alone
For untold millennia The Silver Surfer was the faithful Herald of the Word Devourer Galactus. His humanity lost to him. His past, his very soul imprisoned behind mental barriers erected by his amoral master. Then on an isolated little mud ball known as Earth, populated by primitives, it all changed! A beautiful, blind artisan, Alicia Masters somehow stirred his slumbering soul. His humanity and morality wakened, He could no longer aid his master in the galactic genocide that had been his duty. Like a house fly attacking a T-Rex, the Surfer sought to stay his Master's hand. Though the gesture was futile, The Surfer earned the begrudging respect of Galactus. His life was spared. His punishment, banishment from his beloved stars. Exiled to the tiny mud ball Earth, he championed justice to atone for his crimes against life. After many years and endless attempts, he escaped. The barrier broken, he was free to soar the stars once more.
