THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY
TITLE - THEY
Warlock begins defending the High Evolutionary by trying to take out the attackers covertly. One attacker gets the best of him and before he can kill Warlock, the soul gem activates and takes his soul into it. As a result of this event, Warlock learns that Counter Earth was sold to super beings known as the Beyonders. During the Infinity Gauntlet fight, the planet was unable to withstand the astral turmoil and was destroyed. A being known as the Omega reaches in and captures 12 doomed souls from Counter Earth poisoning them with hatred against the High Evolutionary turning them into robots of sorts. Before these beings can kill the High Evolutionary, Warlock shows up and exploits a conflict between their conscience and duty, as they begin to remember him as their old God. Confused about whether to obey the Omega (new God) vs Warlock (old God) they overload their systems and explode. Warlock leaves realizing he can now only rely on himself and his Watch. Meanwhile, Gamora and Moondragon are also abducted on their way to Earth by the same person who's got Pip and Drax - the Omega.
