Eternity awakens Warlock and forces him to face several different selves of his being. 'Him' - representing the hapless child, a self as the warrior hero appointed by the High Evolutionary to guard Counter Earth - representing the blind idealist, his suicidal paranoiac phase when he fought the Universal Church of Truth - representing the bitter cynic, and the Magus - representing the corrupt tomorrow. As a result, Warlock faces and merges with all his parts to become whole again. Eternity then warns Warlock that he will face five creatures. "One being will be in need of a soul. Another is entangled in a web of past and future foes. There is one who will touch your heart. Still another is one whose trust you will betray. The last will be the terrible good that is within you." Warlock then awakens from his coma into this reality where an orb that Eternity have him has appeared.
